This presentation reviews the root cause of lubricant varnish and demonstrates new turbine lubricant breakdown testing that shows ALL oils breakdown over time. While some oils perform before better than others, the performance of all brands are impacted over time leading to the vast majority of problems. Methodologies at eliminating this disadvantage from critical rotating equipment are presented.
